O “Vicentinho” is a gorgeous, small lunchroom / Wine shop across the street from the famous mannerist Monastery of São Vicente de Fora (late 16th-18th century), where the Kings of the House of Braganza are buried in the district of Alfama.

The lunchroom is in a typical old Alfama building with gorgeous tiled walls and a selection of good wines from the Portuguese vineyards.

They serve typical Portuguese snacks like Pasteis de Bacalhau and Risois de Camarao. (1 euro, 90 cents)
Various baquettes at 2,20, a one euro vegetable soup and some traditional dishes like Bacalhau a Bras for 5,50.

They also have a selection of meal salads, burgers and juices.
A very nice, affordable place to have lunch after viewing the monastery.

This restaurant serves Indian dishes.
Even though the food is very good, the ambiance leaves a lot to wish for.
The menu is very cheap, but we advice you to ask for prices of drinks and anything else that is not on the menu before ordering.
We ate there, the food was very good, the service was okay, but when the bill came, they overcharged us by 20% and refused to supply a list with prices as displayed on the bill.
As we where leaving the restaurant, a local told us that they hold different prices for tourists.
Not really a good way to get costumers into a completely empty restaurant.
Pay attention to the prices mentioned on the main ASREP List of prices, as restaurants are not allowed to charge different amounts even in Portugal.

Matas snack-bar is a cafeteria and restaurant Portuguese style with a very nice tree covered terrace in the hearth of Graca, a short walk from the famous Alfama district and 5 minutes walk from Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.

  The restaurant serves traditional meals like various grilled fish and some famous Portuguese meat dishes and typical Petiscos like Pica Pau and Portuguese Chorizo.

Its quite and mostly visited by locals.

Its the perfect place to relax from the busy and touristic Alfama, especially on warm days when you can relax on its very nice terrace on the Largo da Graça!

Also a good place to have a coffee and cake or a drink.

Prices are between 7-10 euro for a meal and around 5 for petiscos (tapaz)

They also offer day dishes.
