Porto Brandão, on the south side of the Tagus is a small town on the opposite of the Tagus facing Belem with an hourly ferry boat between the 2 points (http://transportesalmada.ageneal.pt/content.asp?startAt=2&categoryID=882&newsID=2188).

Its a gorgeous village with many fine restaurants of which Restaurante A DOCA is one of the better ones.

The restaurant offers many traditional dishes such a Arroz de Marisco (sea food rice) and various types of Cataplana most dishes can be ordered for either 1 or 2 people.

They also offer many traditional meat dishes and grill on traditional grills in front of the restaurant.

We ordered the basic sea food rice at 20 euro for 2 people and where suprised at the quality, freshness and taste.
Perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious.
The staff where incredibly attentive, the atmosphere comfortable and friendly and the food very good and reasonably priced.

The restaurant Delicias de Goa has recently renewed their menu and now they serve dishes from Goa with Portuguese influence, adapted to and developed over the last 450 years.

A perfect blend of Portuguese and Goan food, some claim this restaurant has the best food in Lisbon! The prawn and Goan chicken curry are a must have especially if you like spicy food. On the dessert menu, do not skip the Bebinca.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Lisbon which closed its doors in Cascais a couple of years ago.

Purely by accident, while walking through the noble and very beautiful Santos district, we stumbled on this gorgeous little place!

The restaurant is filled with plants and the owner also runs a plant / flower shop next door. Its a small, cosy and comfortable haven of tranquility and peace.
If you like quaint, you will love this place!

We where helped by a very friendly lady, the food was well prepared with a large selection of dishes, desserts and cheeses.

Cervejaria (beer house) Ramiro is one of the better seafood restaurants in Lisbon. It’s always busy and even though you can wait for a table and you probably wont wait too long, if you want to be absolutely sure you may also reserve.

Prices are very reasonable and mostly by the kilo, which means you will pay whatever the weight of your chosen fish is.

Its a busy, lively restaurant well worth standing in line for!

According to their own site the restaurant is not sophisticated but pleasant, But I care to differ and think it has a lot of typical Lisbon sophistication (and is very pleasant!).
The staff are very attentive and friendly, the fish absolutely fresh and the space divided into 3 floors each with its own characteristics.
